About us

AI chatbots your customers can actually reach

ChatbotGen lets you train an AI chatbot on your own material and put it where your customers already are — on your website, on WhatsApp, and on Telegram. We have been shipping it since 2023.

Why we built it

We kept meeting the same problem in client projects: a business had the answers written down somewhere, and still lost the customer because nobody replied in time. The answers were in a PDF, a website, or somebody’s head. The customer was on WhatsApp at 9pm.

Most chatbot tools solved the first half of that and stopped. They give you a chat box for your website and then send you to a Meta Business verification queue if you want WhatsApp. We wanted the whole path — train it once, answer everywhere — to take an afternoon, not a quarter.

How we got here

  1. June 2023

    First paying customer

Found us through a Reddit thread, not an ad. That set the tone: we grow by being useful to people who are already looking for a way to answer their customers faster.

  2. July 2023

    Product Hunt launch

The launch put the product in front of an audience outside our network and gave us the first real backlog of feedback — most of it about channels, not about the chat box.

  3. April 2026

    ChatbotGen v2

We rebuilt the platform on Elixir and Phoenix. Same product idea, much faster streaming, real-time training status, and a widget small enough that it never slows down the site it sits on.

What we believe

Meet customers on the channel they already use

A chat bubble on your website only helps the people who visit your website. Most of our customers get more conversations on WhatsApp than anywhere else, so WhatsApp is a first-class channel here — you scan a QR code and the number is linked in about 90 seconds. No Meta Business verification, no BSP contract, no waiting.

Train it on what you already have

Upload documents, point it at your website, paste in your Q&A. The chatbot answers from your material and tells you which source it used, so you can fix a bad answer at the source instead of rewriting a prompt and hoping.

Bilingual by default

The product, the docs, and the support are in English and Spanish. We serve customers worldwide, and a large share of them work in Spanish across Latin America — that is not an afterthought translation, it is how the product is built.

Who uses ChatbotGen

  • Universities and schools

Admissions and student-services teams answer the same questions every intake cycle. The University of the Free State and INTO University have both run chatbots built on ChatbotGen.

  • Real estate

Agencies use the chatbot to qualify a lead and pull live listings into the conversation through our Wasi CRM integration, then hand the buyer to a human at the right moment.

  • Small teams everywhere else

Clinics, agencies, shops, insurance brokers. The common thread is a small team that cannot staff a chat window all day but still loses business when nobody replies.

Who builds it

ChatbotGen is built and operated by Toptive LLC, a software company co-founded by Facundo Muñoz and Jorge Padula. We build software for clients as well, which is where the original problem came from — and it is why the roadmap is driven by support conversations rather than by a growth deck.

Support goes to the people who write the code. If something is broken, say so — that feedback is the shortest path we have to a better product.
